Artists for the Barnes: Eleanor Schimmel

Eleanor Schimmel is a Philadelphia based artist, recognized nationally for her work with encaustics, a unique medium of melted bees wax and pigment resulting in an enamel like surface.  Her work is in private, public, and corporate collections throughout the united States.

She is the 2005 recipient of the Distinguished Alumna of Moore College of
Art and Design award.
